As the co-owner of SOCOM Fitness, Personal trainer since 2005, and a Johnny G. Spinning Instructor since 2007, Sandra strives to spread the word of fitness. Since the age of 5, she cheered competitively in the South Florida area and coached younger squads while still in high school. Sandra parlayed her stint as a coach into a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Florida State University (FSU), where she studied the affects of exercise on the body and the importance of nutrition. While at FSU, she began her transition from student to trainer at the Bobby E. Leach Center, the university’s fitness center. In just a short time, Sandra climbed the ranks to earn the top student position as Senior Instructor of Fitness and served as a liaison between the student body, student employees and the Fitness Director. During her time at the Leach, she received certifications in Spinning and Stretch and Flexibility, and also practiced exercise testing and prescription routines for clients with physical limitations and health issues.
Sandra recently applied these lessons while training at Bally Total Fitness in Fort Lauderdale where she quickly became one of their top trainers.
Always a very active person, Sandra is constantly on the move searching for new challenges. Fitness plays an immense role in her life- even on her down time Sandra loves working out and creating new routines for her clients and friends! A native of Fort Lauderdale, she is fond of cooking and travelling. You can catch her boating or enjoying a brisk bike ride on her spare time, yet Sandra’s main passion will always be fitness. “I love health and fitness- my biggest reward is seeing my clients achieve their goals!”
Training Philosophy:
“I believe training, whether it’s at a gym, a track, a court, or wherever you like to train, should be a focus in everyone’s life. It strengthens you physically, mentally, and helps relieve the stresses of everyday life. In today’s society, where ‘no one has time for themselves,’ the majority of Americans do not work out! The major obesity crisis our country faces linked with innumerous health issues, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, is staggering. Our bodies were made to be active- we were not put on this world with cars and fast food restaurants on every corner. We must do the things others are not willing to do in order for us to do things others cannot do in the futurE
